To do this, increase the phone camera's exposure to it's max, and also increase the white balance to it's maximum. While not a true "night vision" (as it requires a small amount of light to amplify), it is perfect for low light/visibility.

Below are my homemade goggles set-up. There is a hole cut out for the camera. Due to the layout of the android camera, I see out the right eye and the camera data out of the left eye.
