I have designed a long range Wi-Fi Cantenna that can be used to detect and use Wi-Fi networks from farther away than with an in-built antenna. Use it to use free Wi-Fi networks, or to extend the effective range of your own network. 

To make it, print the file, then a glue a USB extension cable on the female end so that it is squarely fit into the slot. Then take a USB Wi-Fi antenna and plug it in, and lastly cover the "can" with HVAC tape, with 1-2 layers, making sure it is all covered.
